About Us

Who We Are

Action for the Well-Being of Youth and Women

Founded in 2020 by a dedicated group of young people and women committed to health, education, and social development, Action for the Well-Being of Youth and Women (ABEJF) is a non-profit organization striving to create lasting positive impact in the lives of young people and women across Burundi. Our organization was officially recognized in 2023 under Ministerial Order No. 530/322 of 30/03/2023, reflecting our commitment to the betterment of society and the promotion of equity.

At ABEJF, we firmly believe that every young person and every woman deserves fair access to education, health services, and economic opportunities. We provide the tools, guidance, and support necessary to overcome challenges related to health disparities, limited educational resources, and social inequality. Our approach combines empowerment, skill-building, and active community engagement to pave the way for a healthier, more autonomous, and promising future for all.

Our team works tirelessly to ensure that the voices of youth and women are not only heard but actively included in the development processes that shape their communities. Through advocacy, education, and practical programs, we aim to create sustainable pathways for personal and community growth, ultimately contributing to a society that is inclusive, equitable, and resilient.

🎯 Mission

Our mission is to promote and defend the rights of children, youth, and women by equipping them with knowledge, skills, and resources. We empower them through education and training, while actively involving them in initiatives that foster community development and peacebuilding. Additionally, we prioritize sexual and reproductive health, ensuring that young people and women have access to essential information, guidance, and services that support their well-being, autonomy, and full participation in society.

👁️ Vision

We envision a Burundi where every child and young person grows up in a safe environment, fully enjoying their fundamental rights, and playing a meaningful role in shaping a sustainable and peaceful future. Our goal is to improve living conditions in communities, creating a world where each individual, particularly youth and women, has access to education, health, and opportunities for personal growth and economic empowerment.
